Joana and Julia's new Swing Set!!

So many relatives came for Julia's birth. On the picture to the side you will see Johnny (John's dad), John with the two girls, Ana, Victoria and Jorge (my parents); below are Grandma Whitney and Grandma Osborne and all the boys (Dylan, Colin, Tyler, and Jace),....oh...and Ozzy, of course.

The proud grandma (John's mom) and John with Joana and Julia. So many Js!!! lol
Mommy and Julia....cuddling!

So here is the scoop for this month. Besides Julia's birth, the girls spent lots of time getting accustomed to each other's cries and sounds. Joana loves to kiss the "bubby" as she calls Julia and gets really nervous when her sister cries. John and I have to keep telling her that the baby is ok so that Joana calms down.

Things around the house have been pretty normal or as normal as it can be with a 16 month old and a one month old sometimes crying our waking up in the middle of the night at the same time. John and I are fairly sleep deprived but it would have been worse were it not for the fact that my mother and father have helped so much around the house. Thank you to both of you!!

The most exciting piece of news is of course the new swing set bought by Vovô Jorge and Vovó Victoria that daddy put together with our friends' help (Thank you Keith and Brandon!! You rock!). Joana is already enjoying the slide and we can't wait to see how Julia will play with her sister and all the fun things that the swing has to offer. It has two swings, one seesaw, one slide, a little play house, a sand box, a desk, a wall and a rope to climb to get to the house. FUN FUN FUN!!!

That's it for this month. We hope you guys enjoy the pictures and the videos. See you next month!

The arrival of baby Julia

Finally!!! Julia Ann is here and is very healthy and sooooooo adorable. Thank you all for the phone calls and best wishes. We really appreciate it!!
So I guess you want to know how everything went. Well, here it is: Julia was born at 6:44 a.m. on the 31st of July weighing 7 lbs, 2 ozs ( 3 kgs 200 gms) and 19.5 inches ( 49.5 cms). She was full of energy and had a beautiful pink color all over her body. The doctor said she was very healthy and we noticed that very quickly when she screamed for the first time. Yup, screamed, because Julia doesn't really cry....she screams....yeah...fun fun fun! lol
We had the whole family over at our house and it was a blessing to see everyone share the moment. We celebrated her birth with boiled crabs that John's dad brought from New Orleans. Goooo dad!! It was wonderful to have both grandparents here (the vovô and vovó from Portugal and the dampaw and namaw from Louisiana) and even the two great grandmothers (Grandma O and Mawmaw). We missed uncle Jorge and Titi Jen but we know they were thinking about us and wishing they were here. Vovó Victoria was even able to be present and see the birth and was so in awe of the moment that she almost forgot to take pictures for posterity.

Joana has been very good with Julia and always points to her and says "oooohhh". I don't think she knows that Julia is here to stay though, we will see how that goes, ahahaha. Ozzy, our dog, has also been very gentle around her and already kissed her twice to let her know he is there to protect her too.

That's about it everyone, the pictures speak for themselves, so enjoy them and let us know what you think!

Check out these videos! Too cute!
